Managing talks

Create a talk

Use Create Talk in the workspace header, or New Talk when your talks list is empty, to open the talk editor. Creation is available only when your account allows another talk. If your available actions cannot be loaded, retry before creating a talk.

On large screens, the form appears on the left and a standalone presentation card appears on the right under Audience preview. The preview subtitle explains that links and actions are inactive and that questions and participation features are configured after creation. On smaller screens, use the Edit and Preview tabs in the card above the editor to switch views. Choose Edit to return to the form. The preview updates as you enter the talk title; details such as the description, date, and event are saved with the talk but are not displayed on this card. The preview includes the social links saved in your profile. Preview links and actions are inactive. If profile social links cannot be loaded, choose Retry in the preview.

New talks have no questions and participation features are initially off. Add questions and configure participation features in the talk workspace after creation.

The editor cannot be closed while the talk is being saved. After creation, it closes and opens the new talk workspace, where you can manage its details, questions, status, and participation features.

Talk details include the title, description, scheduled date, color, event name and location, and slide deck URL.

Add an HTTP or HTTPS Deck URL to show View slides on the presentation card. The link opens your slides in a new tab; it also appears in the creation preview but is inactive there. Audience members can also open the deck from Access Slides on the talk's participation overview.

Use Choose color under Accent Color in the creation or editing form to open the color picker. Choose a color visually, or enter a 3- or 6-digit hexadecimal value in Hex color, with or without the # prefix (for example, #a855f7). Press Enter or leave the field to apply a valid hex value. Invalid values leave the selected color unchanged. The selected swatch updates as you choose a color; save the talk to keep the change.

The talk color also tints dialog backdrops in its workspace. Elsewhere, backdrops use Inalia’s primary color.

The scheduled date is descriptive; it does not trigger an automatic start. See Talk lifecycle.

Open your talks

When opening your talks list or a talk workspace, Inalia loads the talk details before showing the page. The talks list also waits for your available actions to load; if they cannot be loaded, navigation does not complete. Check your connection and try opening the list again. While navigating within the app, the current page stays visible until the next page is ready.

If the talk data cannot be loaded, the destination shows an error with a retry option. Check your connection and retry; if your session has expired, sign in again.

Edit a talk

Open the talk and choose Edit Talk to open the same settings-and-preview editor used for creation, filled with your saved details. On large screens, settings and the audience presentation card appear side by side; on smaller screens, use Edit and Preview to switch views without losing your draft. Choose Update Talk to save. Closing without saving discards your changes, and the editor cannot be closed while saving.

The editing preview includes your current participation features, but does not show your questions. Editing talk details keeps your external feedback URL and participation settings unchanged. Review your audience-facing details before sharing links.

Duplicate a talk

Duplicate a talk from the talks list when you are presenting the same material at a new session.

The copy receives a new talk number and a title ending in “(copy)”. It starts disabled.

Duplication copies the talk details, questions and their configuration, external feedback URL, reaction customization, and demo-mode setting. Audience Questions and Live Reactions are copied only when your account can enable them.

Saved answers, audience questions, votes, feedback, and short-link counters are not carried over.

Review the copied date, event information, feature settings, and demo mode before presenting. Duplication is subject to the account's talk creation limit.

Delete a talk

Choose Delete Talk and enter the exact title to confirm. Deletion permanently removes the talk and its associated participation data.

Use Disable or Finish to close participation without deleting your records.
